Principal Geophysicist
Richard gained his BA and MA from the University of Sheffield. He gained a number of years’ experience working for a number of archaeological companies in the UK and Isle of Man. Since joining Headland Archaeology in 2018, Richard has gained considerable experience in geophysical survey, field walking and metal detection on a range of sites, which adds to his knowledge of British Archaeology.
His commercial and research excavation experience covers a wide range of archaeological periods on urban and rural sites in the UK and the Isle of Man. He has an interest in the history and archaeology of the contemporary period, in particular 20th century military and defensive landscapes.
