Publications

For most projects, the final heritage planning obligation for our clients is to make the results available to the general public.  For smaller projects this means a grey-literature report, depositing the site records in the appropriate archive and delivering the finds to the local museum.  Sometimes, though, the archaeology found is important enough to merit publishing more detailed reports in academic journals. For high-profile sites, popular booklets for schools and other community groups and site information boards are often requested. Whilst meeting planning obligations, these can also help clients highlight their role in community engagement and social responsibility.

An essential part of all reporting is the quality of graphics and illustration. A picture really is worth a thousand words and the reputation of our graphics department is second to none.

Graphics in our reports both illustrate and accurately record the evidence. From large-scale site plans, to detailed drawings of artefacts, they are essentially evidence and must meet the highest standards. Our attention to detail ensures the accuracy and high quality that is demanded of academic publication and will satisfy all planning authorities, stakeholders and peer reviewers.

Our team  carries out typesetting, copy-editing and quality control, delivering a total, professional publications service. We have all the skills and contacts necessary to publish our own books, monographs and popular booklets, as well as preparing technical papers for academic journals. We can also produce site information boards, posters, fliers and other material for clients’ publicity purposes.
