Sorina has 18 years’ experience in archaeological practice and research. She joined Headland in 2007, and after being a Project Officer on large projects including Edinburgh Trams and the M74, Glasgow, she moved into project management.
In her current role, Sorina is responsible for tendering, designing, negotiating and implementing programmes of archaeological work including assessing and identifying archaeological risk on development sites and proposing mitigation strategies.
Many of the projects she has managed have involved multi-stage programmes of non-invasive and invasive investigations and multiple excavations, as well as co-ordinating post- excavation and publication programmes. Examples include her work on the Edinburgh Trams, Furness Abbey, Forestry Commission surveys, and the Culduthel publication project. More recently she managed the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route contract for Non-Invasive and Invasive Archaeological Works involving several stages of archaeological investigations.
