Principal Heritage Consultant
Paul joined Headland in 2001, and has directed a wide range of field projects throughout the UK and Ireland, also gaining considerable experience in report preparation and publication. He was also instrumental in developing the company’s approach to assessing the issue of setting in his original work on the EIA for Clyde Wind Farm.
In 2012, Paul moved across from Contracting to Headland’s Consultancy department, working as a Heritage Consultant. His work included preparing desk-based assessments and impact assessments, undertaking walkover surveys, analysis of GIS data and consultations with national heritage agencies and local authorities. He has completed numerous Cultural Heritage chapters for Environmental Statements, and baseline assessments for wind farms, grid connections, housing and aggregates across the UK and Ireland.
In April 2014 Paul was promoted to Principal Heritage Consultant, taking on additional responsibilities for managing all aspects of consultancy projects including issuing tenders, preparing budgets and cost estimates and editing reports. Paul has increasingly been involved in planning inquiries as an expert witness on heritage matters.
