Ballyshane, Co. Cork
A historic building survey was undertaken by Headland on a ruinous cottage at Ballyshane, Cloyne, Co. Cork. The structure was typical of many 18th - 19th century vernacular buildings in the area and was constructed of stone and mud wall. During the early to mid-20th century windows were inserted and the building divided into the current rooms.
Now demolished and, rebuilt, Headland’s detailed report stands as a record of this rapidly disappearing category of building.
