Today, road construction requires a significant input from archaeologists, from the moment a new scheme is planned.

Headland is fully resourced to participate in the process at all levels. At the planning stage our team provide a critical assessment of the character and significance of the archaeology and offer recommendations for mitigation.

Following route selection we have a reputation for focused testing of the corridor and a pragmatic approach to resolving the archaeological issues arising. 

Our involvement with major infrastructure development is a cornerstone of Headland’s workload with over 17 major road contracts awarded in the last four years. Our track record shows that the scale of such projects is something that we are entirely comfortable with.
